On this trip we’ll visit a balanced rock known as a dolmen. Was it placed by glaciers, Vikings, or someone else? You will gain the skills to plan your own voyage and enjoy the company of like-minded people on this partially outfitted trip. Space is limited. Register by August 11.  $500 member/$525 non-member.

Join Ame Martinson from the Wisconsin Mycological Society for a lesson in mushroom identification. We will cover methods such as observing physical characteristics, spore prints, using a mushroom guide, and observing environmental cues. All skills levels and ages are welcome. Be prepared for walking over uneven terrain.  Register by August 29 to get directions to the meeting place.  $35 member/$45 non-member.

Join Join Museum Naturalist and fen fanatic Emily Stone and Katie Beilfuss from Wisconsin Wetlands Association to explore a magical fen 11 miles east of Cable. You'll learn about fen formation, plant ecology and identification, and more. Meet at 1 pm at Cable Natural History Museum to carpool to the fen. "The Broad Strokes", a local painting group, began15 years ago with a few local women artists getting together on a weekly basisto share the common love of painting.  While the membership hasvaried over the years, it has been largely stable over the last decade. While we mainly focus on watercolor, we enjoy experimenting with differentmediums and sharing whatever we are learning with each other.  Someof us entered the group with zero to minimal experience and have be nurtured byour more experienced members.  Sharing our love of painting has created astrong bond but newcomers are always welcome!

Currently they meet every Monday morning at the GraceLutheran Church on Greenwood Ave in Hayward from 9:30 to noon.

Singer, songwriter, fiddle, mandolin, guitar player Molly Otis fronted the power country group known as Molly & the Heymakers. The band took the best from honky tonk, bluegrass, country-rock and other styles and blended them seamlessly into a foot stomping good time.

The combination of musicians and talents has gelled into a distinct sound with fresh takes on Classic Rock, Country, Bluegrass and Americana. Add a twist of Celtic music to the mix and you have an infectious beat with soaring fiddle and mandolin solos.
