The finest athletes in the world compete annually in the Lumberjack World Championships, American Birkebeiner cross country ski marathon, and the Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival mountain bike race.     To enthusiastic off-road bicyclists from across the country, the annual trek to the Chequamegon Mountain Bike Festival presented by Trek means fat tire racing and fat tire fun. Each year in mid-September, thousands of mountain bikers descend on the towns of Cable and Hayward in northwestern Wisconsin to take on the off-road bicycle tests of endurance and agility offered throughout the weekend.

    The events will traverse the rolling hills and twists & turns of the famous Birkie Trail.  You’ll see beautiful vistas from atop Mt. Telemark and run on challenging hills, all within the beautiful forests of northwest Wisconsin.  If you love to run on a great trail in the midst of nature, this is the event to put on your calendar NOW.
