The River Deck is looking for an experienced sous chef / line cook / prep cook to join our team. The restaurant is open Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend from 4:00 – 8:30 pm, Tuesday through Saturday. You will assist in the daily operations of the kitchen and work with kitchen staff to ensure that the highest quality of cuisine is served to our guests. Reasonable hours with great team atmosphere.

Sous Chef Responsibilities

  • Assist with the daily operations of the kitchen and provide professional leadership and direction to kitchen personnel.
  • Ensure that all recipes, food preparations, and presentations meet restaurant’s specifications and commitment to quality. Maintain a safe, orderly and sanitized kitchen.

Sous Chef Requirements and Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a sous chef / line cook
  • Has the ability to supervise, coach, develops, lead & motivate employees.
  • Can establish, maintain and enforce consistently high-performance standards.
  • Capable of adapting his/her leadership style to a variety of situations and scenarios.
  • Propensity to problem solve with practical solutions
