Spring has sprung at the library with our annual Kid’s morning of Spring Fun event on April 3, at 10:30 am in partnership with Superior Choice Credit Union (SCCU). Join us in the children’s room for a storytime about spring. Then, children can get their very own temporary glitter tattoo. Afterwards, we’ll announce the beginning of the egg hunt after the Spring activities have concluded, so be sure arrive on time for the activities. Eggs can only be found after the hunt officially begins. Four golden eggs, from SCCU, will be hidden amongst other eggs with prizes in them. The golden eggs will have a slip inside redeemable for $20.

The program created by Ed Willett and Cheryl Leah for the centennial of the National Park Service enjoyed 32 performances in that centennial year for 17 of our national parks. They describe the program as a coming together of music and theater, and one that features their own “nature-forged” chamber music intertwined with Muir’s writings. We shoot to 100 yards at steel buffalo silhouettes, each shooter attempts to shoot 20 rounds per session to knock down the 20 buffalo targets. At the end of the 10 weeks we’ll tally up the totals to see who walks away with trophies and bragging rights. Two choices of shooting are available to accommodate different shooters. Standing-free handed for those that enjoy a real challenge or sitting-free handed for those that aren’t able to steady their aim. Come on out and take your best shot.

Come enjoy the stories, great music and community spirit, and perhaps gain some inspiration to begin work on your own memoir or family history.

Join us at the library as Emily Stone, Naturalist from the Cable Natural History Museum, presents on her third installment of her book, natural connections, on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. Through stories of scientists studying hungry plants, wandering warblers, and a ghost pipe’s surprising value, you’ll find that all Beings are endlessly connected in life and beyond death.
Stone is a naturalist by birth, training, profession and passion. As the Naturalist/Education Director of the Cable Natural History Museum in Cable, WI, Emily writes a weekly “Natural Connections” column published in more that 20 local and regional newspapers!
