A vocal harmony duo fifteen years in the making, Moors & McCumber have done more than just endear themselves to fans - they’ve built a genuine community. Bridging the gap between classic folk rock and present day Americana, they write heartfelt songs directly inspired by life’s experiences.
The sound of Moors & McCumber is adventurous, eclectic, and endlessly creative. Borrowing from rock, pop, blues, folk, and world music, the two multi-instrumentalists defy common logic and embrace spontaneity to bring their stories and songs to life. Their strong vocal harmonies and unconventional instrumentation combine to create a mesmerizing experience. At the center of it all is their evocative songwriting.
While “more than the sum of their parts” has become a bit of a cliche, there is no better phrase to describe Moors & McCumber. James is a gifted singer and songwriter, while Kort specializes in creating vocal harmonies and captivating arrangements through inventive instrumentation. With their voices combined, they create a truly special sound. As Grammy award-winning producer Lloyd Maines says, “They bring it all to the stage and deliver in a big way.”

It may not feel like it yet, but spring will be in the air once April rolls around, it will be in our hearts, in our steps, and in our car seats! It will be time to celebrate; we will have earned it. And what better practice for getting out of the house than coming down to The Backstage?
Jan Lee and Kevin Kling are teaming up again to bring you stories and songs of the Northland that will help usher us from casseroles to salads, boxing up winter plaid for summer plaid, changing ice as a road to the cooler, and calls of, “The lupins are coming! The lupins are coming!” Kevin Kling is a playwright, actor, author, storyteller and a Minnesota state treasure. Jan Lee is an actor, writer, director, musician, and a longtime member of the Blue Canvas Orchestra troupe.

Internationally acclaimed as a mesmerizing live performer, Cary Morin’s soul-stirring voice and jaw-dropping fingerstyle guitar playing have captivated audiences for decades.
“Cary is a unique and brilliant player, songwriter and singer. I have huge respect for his style and technique,” says legendary multi-instrumentalist and songwriter David Bromberg. “If you haven’t heard him yet, you should.”
Morin’s latest project, Innocent Allies, honors his family’s Native American heritage and is inspired by the genius of famous western artist, Charles Marion Russell. “This record is a masterpiece worthy of its place among the great works of art it was created to honor,” says Trina Shoemaker, the Grammy-winning producer who mixed and mastered the album at her Alabama studio. “Through the songs, I was able to visualize these unseen paintings with uncanny clarity and feel the powerful emotions.”
Morin’s career catalog fuses the best of American roots music: blues, folk, soul, bluegrass and the timeless and distinctive sounds of the rural countryside, from the Western Plains and Rocky Mountains to the rhythmic melting pot of the deep South.
His music has reached millions through prestigious performances at venues like the Kennedy Center and Lincoln Center as well as national television and radio programs. He has shared stages with Taj Mahal, Los Lobos and Bonnie Raitt, among countless others, while earning multiple awards including two Indigenous Music Awards for Best Blues CD.
Along with his life partner, Celeste Di Iorio, together they form the Cary Morin Duo. Celeste has her own history in the world of performance, having been involved in dance, theater, and music for many years. She is a vocalist and, as she would say, “a strummer on guitar.” Celeste has played and sung with Cary for over 11 years.
When not performing across the US and Europe, Morin finds inspiration in Northern Colorado, which he proudly calls home. Visit CaryMorin.com and follow him on Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.
